No. SimpleSoc2 helps you prepare, maintain processes, and collect evidence. An independent auditor or certification body performs the assessment. Your company remains responsible for its processes and controls; we do not guarantee an audit outcome.
Does anything keep running on the laptop?
No permanent SimpleSoc2 background agent is required. Each person runs the macOS CLI when a check is due, reviews the results, and approves the upload. Nothing monitors their activity between checks.
What happens when someone misses a check?
The overdue check appears in the CISO’s or responsible person’s dashboard, so the company can follow up. The default interval is four weeks and is configurable to fit your requirements.
What support is included?
Your plan includes human product support for using SimpleSoc2. Compliance consulting, independent audits, and certification services are not included.
Can we inspect the CLI?
Yes. Its source is available to paying customers. The CLI is maintained separately from the web app. macOS is the first supported operating system.
Can we take our evidence with us?
Yes. Documents, process information, and check evidence can be exported as Markdown and PDF for transfer, sharing with customers, and providing to your auditor.
